AGC Georgia is cautiously optimistic that we'll be in a position to host our Annual Convention. As we all learn more over the next few weeks, we'll have a clearer path to share with you.

Guest Speaker presented by

Green Beret Commander Mark Nutsch
As portrayed by actor Chris Hemsworth in the major motion picture, 12 Strong, Mark Nutsch (aka Mitch Nelson in the film) shares lessons learned in the now-declassified saga of a U.S. Special Forces team that overcame seemingly insurmountable odds to help achieve a historic military victory. The film is based on the best-selling book Horse Soldiers by Doug Stanton.

Mark Nutsch shares the true-life story of helping lead what is considered the most successful unconventional warfare campaign in modern history, a victory that changed the course of our country and the world. In October 2001, Nutsch led a heroic 12-man team of U.S. Special Forces on a covert mission to Afghanistan, where they would ride to war on horses to fight the enemy—side by side with their Muslim counterparts—capture the strategic city of Mazar-i-Sharif within a matter of weeks, and successfully overthrow the Taliban. Now a consultant to Special Operations Command, he earned a Bronze Star with valor for his bravery.

On stage, Nutsch enthralls audiences with an edge-of-your-seat, behind-the-scenes account of how this almost unbelievable event played out and impacted the world. He also shares perspectives on preparing his team of “guerrilla diplomats” for ever-evolving on-the-ground circumstances, and how resourcefulness, inventiveness, and commitment, along with adaptability, a diverse team, and a capacity to persevere enabled them to successfully accomplish their mission.

Both business registrants and their spouse/guest are encouraged to participate in Saturday morning's Awards Breakfast. Registration is required for spouses/guests.

After Party presented by

Immediately after adjourning from our closing dinner on Saturday evening, all guests are invited to The After Party, featuring Band of Gold.

Band of Gold, from Lawrenceville, GA, is performs all of your favorites from the 1940's to today. Since 1999, the group has entertained audiences in the Southeast with their wide variety of music. They recently earned an award for The Best Live Band In Georgia.

Their action packed shows are designed to pack dance floors with perfect song choices from their extensive catalog of music and their fun personalities. The group's incredible musicians and state of the art sound and lighting system will impress.

Who's Coming to the Coast?

Welcome from AGC Georgia President, Brian Daniel

I'm looking forward to a great convention in Amelia Island, and I hope you, your colleagues and your family will make plans to join us.

Our golf tournament always gets us started, and this year it will take place at 8:00 am on Thursday, June 11. Make sure you plan your arrival for Wednesday if you plan to play in the tournament. Later on Thursday, we'll reconvene for our Welcome Dinner. All members and their families are invited, we'll even have dedicated children's activities available. It's going to be casual and FUN!

All business registrants are invited to gather on Friday morning for our Annual Meeting and ladies who are not attending the business meeting are invited to the Ladies Brunch. Later this evening, attendees are encouraged to explore the area and have dinner on their own. Young Leadership Program and Executive Alliance members are invited to their respective dinners at the resort on Friday evening.

On Saturday morning, we'll host our award ceremony and recognize the best of the best construction projects built by our member contractors and present corporate safety awards. The Annual Dinner closes the convention in eloquent style on Saturday evening. The 2020 Skill, Integrity and Responsibility (SIR) Award is presented at this program and the new officers and board members are installed. This year, I have the special privilege of presenting the SIR Award to Randall K. Redding, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of R. K. Redding Construction, and passing the gavel to David Moody, Chief Executive Officer of C. D. Moody Construction Co., Inc.

Immediately following the business of our closing dinner, please plan to join us for a fun After Party!  This will be a great way to close out what's shaping up to be a fantastic convention! Can't wait to see you and your family on the coast!
