The Georgia Mental Health Alliance proudly presents information for all industries to use during September 2024, which is National Suicide Prevention Month. Businesses and organizations across the state are encouraged to participate in local events and activities during Suicide Prevention Month to promote mental health awareness among workers. Below are several events (virtual and in-person) from mental health organizations in Georgia that you can participate in as an organization or share with your employees in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month. Mental Health America (MHA) of Georgia - Mental Health Academy Trainings
A collection of evidence-based mental health awareness programs that educate community members to better understand mental illness/addictions and provide effective response options for de-escalation.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) – Out of the Darkness Walks

AFSP World Suicide Prevention Day Candlelight Vigil
This is a virtual event where attendees come together to hear speakers, connect with other loss survivors and honor those we have lost to suicide. It is free to participate, but pre-registration is required.

AFSP Talk Saves Lives Program
Offered in-person or virtually and are free of charge. AFSP can work with companies throughout the month of September to bring these programs to their associates for their Suicide Prevention Month initiatives.
