Fall Protection - Competent Person Training
Employers have a duty to provide fall protection when employees are at risk of falling 6 feet or more. At least one Fall Protection Competent Person per trade should be identified on a project if their workers are exposed to fall hazards. This course will provide participants training and knowledge of OSHA’s Subpart M in identifying fall hazards and how to eliminate the risks of falls.

OSHA 10-Hour for Construction
OSHA requires a contractor to have a competent person on-site to qualify for Focused Inspections. This safety course is designed to help contractors develop safety and health competent persons for their job sites. The competent person will learn to recognize potential hazards in construction before an incident occurs. Plus, individuals will be able to identify and implement abatement techniques for hazards found on the construction site.

OSHA 30-Hour for Construction
Many owners and general contractors are now requiring contractors to complete the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Outreach course prior to working on their projects. This four-day course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone in the construction industry. It is developed for the person who works with a broad variety of construction standards. The class covers the full spectrum of construction safety form Subpart A through Subpart Z. Learn how to recognize basic construction hazards and implement corrective measures through classroom instruction.

OSHA Crane Standard Subpart CC: Qualified Signal/Riggers
This course meets the requirements of OSHA's Subpart CC-Cranes in Construction regulations. In one day, we cover both Qualified Signal Person requirements and Basic Level 1 Qualified Rigger requirements. Many companies currently require documentation of a Qualified Signal Person and Qualified Rigger before allowing you to work on their sites. Attendees will review standard ANSI hand and voice signals along with basic hitches, capacity calculations and inspection requirements for rigging equipment. Students are required to pass a written and practical exam as required by OSHA.

Who Should Attend? Supervisors & personnel who work with or around cranes; All personnel who signal cranes (Mobile & Tower); All personnel who rig loads on cranes; General contractors who own, rent or oversee mobile or tower cranes on their jobsites; and Employers who own or rent mobile or tower cranes.

Scaffold Safety - Competent Person Training
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires a competent person to supervise when a scaffold is “erected, moved, dismantled, or altered,” 1926.451 (a)(4). Participants in this course will be provided the necessary training to be considered a “competent person” by an OSHA inspector. The instructor will also cover the most common OSHA violations related to scaffolds and how to control/eliminate accidents and injuries associated with scaffolds.

Topics covered include: footings and foundations, inspection of equipment, tying scaffolding to a building, platforms and planking, fall protection, ladders and stairways, systems scaffold.

Silica Competent Person Training for Construction 
Exposure to respirable crystalline silica can cause silicosis, lung cancer, other respiratory diseases and kidney disease. About two million construction workers are exposed in over 600,000 workplaces. OSHA estimates more than 840,000 workers are exposed to silica levels that exceed the new permissible exposure limit. Workers and contractors need to recognize the hazard, understand the risk factors and work safety silica. The rule mandates all construction employers covered by the standard to have a written exposure control plan that designates a competent person. This course provides supervisors, managers and safety professionals the knowledge and tools to comply with the silica standard for construction. Attendees also receive information needed to serve as silica competent persons in order to implement the written exposure control plan required by the standard.

Steel Erection - Competent Person Training
This course will offer training in procedures required in the Steel Erection Standard - Subpart R.  This course is for those who are in any position of authority relating to any type of structural steel erection, including everyone from the crafts trade to project managers and construction company owners, and to any other on-site personnel.  This is an intensive one-day, 8-hour seminar designed to assist contractors, engineers and architects, and other safety personnel in understanding and complying with the Steel Erection Standard.

Topics include: introduction, objectives, scope, definitions, layout, erection, and sequence, hoisting and rigging, column anchorage, beams & columns, open web steel joists, systems-engineered metal buildings, falling objects, fall protection, appendices.

Trenching and Excavations - Competent Person Training
If you dig, or if your project has a four-foot or deeper foundation, basement, or excavation work, then you should attend this informative course. This course educates individuals on the proper procedures for before, during, and after trenching and excavation, while meeting OSHA’s requirements for a “competent person.”

The State Licensing Board approves this course for Utility Contractors.
