You and your guests are invited to join us in beautiful Sea Island, GA  for AGC Georgia's Fall Leadership Conference. This annual conference brings members together for learning, recreation, socializing and fun you don't want to miss!

We are excited to offer leadership development seminars on the mornings of October 16 and 17. These programs are designed to provide valuable insights and practical tools to enhance your leadership effectiveness as both a team leader and team member. Afternoons during the conference are open for you to take advantage of area activities. On Saturday afternoon, join us to cheer on your favorite college football team on the big screens during our football party! Members attending this conference in the past tell us what they enjoy the most is connecting with other industry professionals in a comfortable, relaxed setting.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES
  • Be sure to read the below cancellation policies for both event registration and room reservations prior to making a decision on whether you want to attend.
  • We are working to hold networking events outside during this conference and limit indoor gatherings.
  • Social distancing will be in effect for all business participants at each of the leadership sessions.
  • Mask will be strongly encouraged.
  • We will follow all health and safety guidelines mandated by The Cloister.
  • All participants will be required to sign AGC Georgia's liability waiver to participate in this Fall Leadership Conference. 

AGC Georgia's REGISTRATION Cancellation Policy
Due to COVID-19, this conference has a new cancellation policy. Once registered, there will be no refunds for cancellations. Substitutions are encouraged.

AGC Georgia's ROOM Cancellation Policy
If you reserve a room at Sea Island through AGC Georgia's room block, you are financially responsible for the room even if you do not attend. Should Sea Island offer to cancel your reservation, please understand AGC Georgia is still financially responsible for the full room block and if you need to cancel your reservation, the fees for that unused room are passed to AGC Georgia.

We can't guarantee we'll have a wait list of individuals needing rooms, however, in the event we do, Machell Harper will be happy to help you move your room into someone else's name (and remove all financial responsibility from you), but you must work directly with her. Again, calling Sea Island to cancel your room reservation doesn't release you from financial obligation to AGC Georgia. Please work directly with Machell Harper at AGC Georgia should you have any concerns.   


ROOM RATES
There are 15 rooms available in the AGC Georgia room block at the Inn. These rooms start at $180 ++. These are on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Rooms at The Cloister start at $325. (The Cloister is defined as The Cloister Main Building & Wings, The Cloister Beach Club and The Cloister Ocean Residences. Run of Cloister is defined as Resort or Garden View.)

  • Reservations through online portal: Click here 
  • Reservations by Phone: Rooms may be reserved between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm 7 days a week by calling the Sea Island reservations office at (888) 974-0382. This is a unique number that identifies you to the reservations agents as a guest who will be attending the AGC Georgia Fall Leadership Conference.
  • Check-in time is 4:00 pm. Guests arriving before 4:00 pm will be accommodated as rooms become available.
  • Check-out time is 12:00 pm.
  • Valet parking is available to all overnight guests for a charge of $15.00 per night. Valet parking is required for guests staying in The Cloister Main Building or Wings.
  • Self-parking is available to overnight guests staying at The Beach Club or The Cloister Ocean Residences, for a charge of $10.00 per night.

Leadership Development Sessions 

Over the course of two mornings, AGC Georgia's leadership speaker, Wally Adamchik will present Implementing VUCA Leadership (Vision, Understanding, Clarity and Agility) to attract, retain and inspire employees in a VUCA world (Volatility, Uncertainly, Complexity, and Ambiguity).

  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ) – A deep dive to elevate the parts that really matter today
    EQis widely misunderstood. It's never been about being nice to people, it is about understanding the impact of emotions (visible and hidden) on decision making, leadership and building effective relationships. Mr. Adamchik will deeply focus on two important areas; optimism and stress tolerance. In times of uncertainty, these two unique elements of EQ are proving to be the difference between success and failure. This is all made even more challenging as we lead and manage remotely. Things that come easily face to face are harder in the virtual world. This makes understanding EQ even more important.

  • VUCA Leadership
    The U.S. Army War College introduced the concept of VUCA to describe the more volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world resulting from the end of the Cold War. This is exactly the environment leaders find themselves in today. Leadership 101 is a great start but the VUCA challenges of today require leaders at all levels to be better. How do you motivate in a virtual VUCA world? How do you engage people when you are one browser tab away from distraction? This hard-hitting interactive session will answer those questions and help participants see their path forward with proven techniques to overcome the challenges they face.

  • Accountability
    Do people get things done in your organization? Or do you find yourself wondering, not only how, but IF the job will be done the right way the first time. What is the cost of people not living up to commitments and how can you help people do exactly that. There are reasons we don’t hold people accountable. From fear to know how, this no longer needs to be true. This content rich session will help you hold people accountable and improve team performance.

About the Presenter


As an Officer of Marines, Wally deployed throughout the world to participate in training, peace-keeping, and combat operations. First, as commander in a tank battalion and then, as the pilot of AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters, he sought out the challenging assignments. His years in the Corps honed his motivational and training skills. His influence remains in a legacy of Marines who provide inspired leadership for this country and for their organizations.

Seeking a new challenge, Wally entered the hyper-competitive private sector to apply his leadership philosophy to the pursuit of operational excellence in business. He was recognized for superior performance and award-winning leadership at two national restaurant companies. At the same time, he earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The next step up was a move into consulting and speaking. As a Senior Consultant with FMI, management consultants to the construction industry, his clients recognized his solutions as practical, profitable, and powerful. He understands the Fortune 500 firm as well as he does the family business and is able to modify his approach to make an impact in both.

Wally recognizes that a good presentation is one that galvanizes the audience. If people are not inspired to use the material and take action, then the speech was merely entertainment.
