If you’re human, you’re biased! It’s not a question of morality – it’s a fact of biology. Cognitive bias is an umbrella term that refers to the systematic ways in which the context and framing of information influence individuals’ judgment and decision-making, both personally and professionally.

Biases sometimes result in surprisingly quick, accurate decision-making – and other times they lead to inaccurate, and often unfair, decisions. Combating the negative impacts of unconscious bias requires awareness, understanding and mitigation.

In this course you will:
Understand and explain cognitive bias and how it impacts day-to-day life and decision making
Learn a foundational vocabulary to help ground future conversations about anything from personality preferences to unconscious bias
Discover seven common unconscious biases and explain their unintended negative impacts
Learn and apply three personal and three professional bias mitigation techniques
Track awareness building, the application of mitigation techniques, and share the results over time
