Build Georgia Awards FAQs

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions of participants in the Build Georgia Awards Program. This information will help you determine your next steps and make sure your project is eligible for competition.

  1. All submittals are officially accepted after Chapter staff verifies the sponsoring firm(s) is(are) current with their membership dues. Please connect with the AGC Georgia team at 678-298-4100 to see if your firm is current on dues by the January 25, 2024 entry deadline.
  2. All parent companies of a joint venture must be members in good standing of AGC Georgia.
  3. If a general contractor enters a project, a subcontractor on the same project may enter their portion of the work in the specialty contractor division of the awards program.
  4. Firms holding a specialty contractor membership in AGC Georgia are not allowed to submit projects in this award program where they were contracted by the owner to serve as the general or prime contractor.
  5. Regardless of whether an employee was a direct hire or an employee of a sub-sub, etc., if there was a fatality during the construction of your project, it is not eligible for the Build Georgia Awards Program.
  6. The project must be on Georgia soil and have been completed during the calendar year 2023 - no exceptions.
  7. If submitting more than one project in the competition, you must create one login account on our online portal and add all entries under that username and password. This will also allow for seamless payment in the online system.
  8. Although entries will be submitted online to AGC Georgia, members are still required to email the following files to Elizabeth Martin at martin@agcga.org on the same day as the entries are due.
  • An electronic file of the photo you've chosen for your Build Georgia Award Plaque (denoted by naming the file "company name-project title-plaque photo")
    • Note: Should your project earn first place recognition, AGC releases the electronic file you email us - noted as your plaque photo - to the media. We include the photo credit you provide to us.
  • Five images in addition to the plaque photo (prefer mixture of interesting progress and completed photos, rather than all of completed project)
  • Your firm's color logo.
