BIM 1: Introduction To BIM

In concert with AGC of America, AGC Georgia is pleased to offer the nationally-recognized BIM Education Program curriculum to our members. The upcoming BIM 101 course is the first in four-part series offered over the next several months, and is designed to prepare construction professionals at all experience levels to successfully implement BIM. Participants learn the benefits of improved visualization on a project through the use of 3D, 4D, and 5D models. This upcoming course also establishes a knowledge base of BIM terminology and outlines case studies showing successful BIM implementation.

• What Is BIM?
• BIM Visualization Uses and Spatial Coordination
• BIM Scheduling, Estimating, and Facility Management
• Getting Started with BIM

Following completion of BIM 101, participants:
• Recognize the importance of BIM
• Define common BIM terminology
• Discuss how BIM can be used as a communication and collaboration tools
• Explain the benefits of BIM
• Compare examples of successful BIM usage
• Discuss issues associated with starting BIM
