East Georgia Workforce Development Skills Challenge

View Full Details

In November 2018, AGC Georgia’s regional Workforce Development Alliances will host Skills Challenges in Augusta, Gainesville, Griffin and Moultrie. These four events offer the opportunity for more than 450 students to compete, representing nearly 60 high schools, in broadcast news production, blueprint reading, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, welding, A/V production and TeamWorks.

Several AGC Georgia member firms will devote hundreds of hours to make these member-driven challenges a huge success. Each of these events will help prepare students who will compete in their regional SkillsUSA event in January 2019. Winners of the regional events will move on to the state SkillsUSA competitions in March 2019 at the Georgia International Convention Center.

Overall, the skills challenges will draw nearly 1,000 student observers and dozens of influencers. Contributions made to the AGC Georgia Foundation by industry firms will help make these events a huge success.
