About This Session:
This session is specifically focused toward helping educate professionals who hold managerial positions with construction firms on HR-related topics such as preventing workplace harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
The fast-paced and interactive conversation will cover:
- Understanding what constitutes unlawful harassment, discrimination and retaliation;
- Adopting policies and practices to address these topics;
- Developing internal complaint procedures;
- Conducting investigations of alleged violations;
- Deciding on appropriate remedial actions;
- Building a respectful workplace culture; and
- Protecting your company's brand.
About the Presenter:
Bert Brannen, a former AGC Georgia Board member and a partner in the labor and employment law firm Fisher & Phillips LLP, will present this session. Bert received his B.S. from Georgia Tech and his MBA and J.D. from the University of Georgia. He has successfully represented clients in proceedings before the NLRB, EEOC, OFCCP, Wage and Hour Division, OSHA and other government agencies.
Bert is a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a group of accomplished members of the labor and employment law community. He served as Chairman of the State Bar of Georgia's Labor and Employment Section. He is a founding Board member of the Section's Mentorship Academy and was named the Fulton County Daily Report Best Mentor in 2018. He served on the Board of AGC GA and as past Chairman of AGC's Labor & Employment Law Council. He is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the Human Resources Leadership Foundation, an other professional groups.
