The Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) are for persons who perform occupational health and safety activities on a full-time or part-time basis and who make worksite assessments to determine risks, potential hazards and controls, evaluating risks and hazard control measures, investigating incidents, maintaining and evaluating incident and loss records, and preparing emergency response plans.

About the Program

Exam Study Workbooks
The material included in the self-evaluation sessions is designed to supplement your home study program and reinforce those areas where emphasis is needed for the examination.  The workbooks provide over 650 questions, answers and explanations.

Facilitated Workshop
The program consists of a three-day in-class prep session where facilitators define the scope of the exam, illustrate the complexity of problems to be encountered, review all required basic math skills, discuss test strategy, examine reference materials and present a model home study program.  The SPAN CertBoK online learning management system is part of the workshop and includes targeted resources including flashcards, study sessions, practice exams and mentors that are exam subject matter experts.
