Welcome from AGC Georgia President, Randy Hall

This year’s convention begins on Sunday, June 11. At 9:00 am, we'll tee-off in our annual golf tournament and then reconvene at 5:30 pm on the resort patio and beachfront for our Welcome Reception and Dinner. All members and their families are invited to the evening events. It's going to be casual and FUN! Children’s activities are planned on the beach and will be supervised by resort staff.

As a former member and chair of the Young Leadership Program (YLP), I'm very pleased with their large participation at recent Annual Conventions and look forward to another strong showing by these industry leaders. They are an asset to AGC Georgia and are a critical component to our association's future success. It's fun to know this group loves to work hard and still finds time to play hard together, too!

All business registrants are invited to gather on Monday morning for our Annual Meeting, complete with keynote presentations from AGC of America CEO, Steve Sandherr and President, Art Daniel. This day's afternoon is open for everyone to explore the area. On Tuesday morning, we'll host our award ceremony and recognize the best of the best construction projects built by our member contractors and present corporate safety awards. The Annual Dinner close the convention in eloquent style on Tuesday evening. The 2017 Skill, Integrity and Responsibility (SIR) Award is presented at this program and the new officers and board members are installed. This year, I have the special privilege of presenting the SIR Award to Phil Beck and passing the gavel to Scott Clark. Immediately following the business of our closing dinner, please plan to join us for a rip-roaring After Party featuring dueling pianos! This will be a great way to close out what's shaping up to be a fantastic convention! Can't wait to see you and your family on the coast!

SIR Award Recipient - Phil Beck

This award is the highest honor given to a deserving individual each year at the Annual Convention in June. The SIR Award recipient exemplifies these values embraced by the AGC organization and has consistently demonstrated outstanding service, industry leadership, and involvement in the community.

On June 13, 2017, Philip Edward (“Phil”) Beck, a partner in the Atlanta office of the nationally-recognized law firm Smith, Currie & Hancock LLC (“Smith Currie”), will receive the 2017 AGC Georgia SIR Award. Phil will be the third construction attorney to receive this prestigious Award, and only the sixth recipient who is not a general contractor. While Phil, like most attorneys, is seldom at a loss for words, he was rendered speechless when informed that he had been selected to receive this Award. Phil considers this Award a tremendous honor, not because of what it says about him, but because of the extremely high regard he has for: AGC, the distinguished SIR Award recipients who have preceded him, and his many AGC friends and clients who he is confident will receive this Award in future years.

4 Secrets Every Woman (who does too much for everyone else) Should Know to Find Joy, Feel Beautiful & Age Gracefully
presented by Christina Rainey and Andrea Robbins

Wonder Woman Syndrome is a real thing. For years, women have been taught that we can do IT ALL. And we have been. But women have been dying from heart attacks at a greater rate than men since 1984. We know we should take care of ourselves, right? But tending to the needs of others simply leaves so little time. We wish we laughed more often. We long for the girl who plucked petals from daisies, who danced in the kitchen to a fondly remembered tune from her youth. Come to this fun, humorous, helpful talk to learn ways to take care of yourself and find your TRUE superpower. You will feel stronger and more beautiful when you leave than when you arrived. Hint: One secret is so sweet and so powerful, you’ll wonder why you never learned it before.

Christina Rainey's motto is “I’m going to make everything around me beautiful. That will be my life.” She always has her bags packed and is ready for her next adventure. She's a girl who lives her life in the fast lane, (gas tank on E) with a camera phone in one hand and a makeup brush in the other. This forever-inspired fashion photographer, high-definition makeup artist, and aspiring world traveler just wants you to see yourself like she does… FLAWLESS. Her smile is her current logo, her personality is her business card, and how she’ll leave you feeling after an experience with her is her trademark. Preparing you for life's paparazzi - Christina Rainey shares her secrets on being glam without giving a damn.

Dr. Andrea Robbins’ clinical career spans 33 years. She is a second generation chiropractor and board certified Naturopath. She uses neuroscience and physics to treat allergies and emotions. She developed a method to improve emotions by treating the physical body, and has taught her protocol in the US, England and South Africa. In October she will speak in France at an international conference of participants from countries all over Europe. She has a wide variety of interests and has mastered most of them. She is a world traveler, adventurer, and martial artists with two black belts. She practices yoga and loves the outdoors. She is also a published fiction novelist. Her first novel, Brave Lightning, is about a middle-aged woman superhero and she is working on a sequel. Andrea credits a spiritual interlude with a hawk with changing her life and teaching her to never miss the joy and beauty around her. Andrea hopes to inspire all of you to find your joy, your beauty and your destiny.

The After Party

Immediately after adjourning from our closing dinner on Tuesday evening, all guests are invited to The After Party featuring dueling pianos. The AGC Georgia Kids and Teens Clubs run through 10:00 pm, so leave the children in great hands and plan to continue the party with your fellow AGC Georgia members. Don't forget to bring your tip money so you can be sure your university's fight song wins the duel!

Thank you to Harrison Contracting Company, Inc. for sponsoring this fun social event!
