Professional and Leadership Development

Member firm employees can choose from an extensive array of class and seminar offerings convened each week to help them stay on top of new industry knowledge and polish or gain new skills to advance their career. Special programs designed to train field personnel are available as well as a variety of management level programs to increase supervisory and leadership effectiveness.

Young industry professionals can participate in the Chapter’s flagship Young Leadership Program (YLP) designed to enhance their leadership potential benefiting their respective companies, the AGC organization and the construction industry in general. In addition to hosting and attending regular roundtable programs, YLP members take the lead in organizing and conducting many of the Chapter’s charitable efforts and community involvement activities including an annual fundraising golf tournament and laying wreaths at veteran grave sites during each Christmas season.

Advanced learning opportunities are available to members at both the Chapter’s annual Fall Leadership Conference and and a Convention each June as well as at AGC of America’s Annual Convention. Other specially convened conferences on best industry practices include BIM, Green Construction, Lean Construction, Human Resources and Training, and Project Management.
