Networking and Relationship Building Opportunities

Numerous special programs and events are held throughout the year in different regions of the state of Georgia giving members an opportunity to make and renew acquaintances with others in the industry. Similar opportunities are provided to members at the national level as a result of their participating in AGC of America programs and events.

As of January 2011, the Chapter’s Members First program is in fully operational in ten regions throughout the state bringing Chapter services closer to where members live and work. Regions include the following:

      • Central Georgia/Macon
      • East Central Georgia/Augusta
      • Northeast Georgia/Athens
      • Northeast Georgia/Gainesville
      • Northeast Metro/Lawrenceville
      • Northwest Georgia/Dalton
      • South Georgia/Valdosta
      • Southeast Georgia/Savannah
      • Southwest Georgia/Albany
      • West Central Georgia/Columbus

In most regions, members have requested monthly organized programs to be held over breakfast or lunch. They enjoy meeting with one another socially and to benefit from speakers on different topics important to them.

The Chapter plans and hosts a Contracts for Contacts program each fall that includes the very popular General Contractor Marketplace. In addition members participate in Chapter sponsored golf tournaments dedicated to helping raise monies for worthy causes including building construction programs at colleges throughout the state and scholarships to deserving students and faculty at these institutions.

Georgia Branch, AGC has standing committees and working taskforces dedicated to enhancing the industry and providing the members with the opportunity to network with other industry professionals in their field and gain leadership experience.

Chapter members look forward to the annual Convention held each summer and the Fall Leadership Conference where they can get away with their families to join with others in a relaxed atmosphere. Numerous opportunities are planned for members to learn, meet and socialize away from the regular work routine. Some of the best and long-lasting relationships among Chapter members are started at these special events.

Younger industry professionals are afforded the opportunity to participate in the Chapter's nationally recognized Young Leadership Program (YLP). This program was founded in 1996 to help develop our industry's and association's successful future by properly preparing the next generation of leaders for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
