AGC Georgia President Scott Clark invites you to join him at one of his upcoming President’s Tour meetings. He looks forward to learning the pressing issues in your region and how AGC Georgia can be more of resource for you and your team.

During his visit with you, he also asks for your input on his primary focuses for his term – encouraging more professionals within your team to engage in AGC Georgia and finding ways to enhance high school construction programs.

Excerpt from President Clark’s message in the Summer/Fall 2017 issue of Georgia Construction Today:

. . . So why is it important to recommend AGC Georgia programs to our leadership teams?  I bet your business or leadership succession plan includes increased responsibility, goals, financials, procurement, networks, human resources, and best practices.  So why doesn’t it include exposure to industry associations?  As we provide career guidance to coworkers, why don’t we also share the benefits of being involved in AGC? As I review our current membership, including gains and losses, one of the primary causes of membership cancellation is that participation is rooted with specific individuals and not with the leadership team as a whole. Is AGC Georgia correctly positioned in your organization?  It is time we engage all ages of industry professionals and show them the value of our organization.

Although it is imperative for AGC Georgia to stay grounded in multiple arenas impacting the construction industry, nothing makes more sense to me than our grassroots efforts of connecting high school construction teachers with contractors and seeing their partnerships grow. Workforce development is the second area I invite you to be a part of during this coming year. Although “workforce development” has become a buzzword for many businesses, our industry keenly feels the need for more youth to enter our sector in order to maintain and grow our businesses.

While these two areas of focus seem unrelated at a distance, they both center on the prosperity of our industry and association. I know someone has helped you get to where you are today and I want to leave a legacy of helping more people find and benefit from AGC Georgia.

Please mark your calendar now and register to join fellow members at an upcoming President’s Tour program. This series of meetings is a great time to invite peers to be your guests who are not members of AGC Georgia; show them why the association is worthy of their loyal support!
