Welcome from President Newsome

I'm looking forward to a great convention, and I hope you, your colleagues and your family will join us.

Our golf tournament will take place at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 6. Make sure you plan your arrival for Wednesday if you plan to play in the tournament. Later on Thursday, we'll host our Welcome Party. All members and their families are invited. We'll have dedicated children's activities available.

All business registrants are invited to gather on Friday morning for our Annual Meeting and ladies who are registered for Social-Only activities are invited to the Ladies Breakfast hosted by my wife, Kim. On Friday evening, members are encouraged to explore the area for dinner and those who are enrolled in YLP and EA are invited to their respective dinners.

On Saturday morning, we'll host our award ceremony and recognize the best of the best construction projects built by our member contractors and present corporate safety awards. On Saturday evening, I look forward to introducing you to Joe Tuggle, our 2024-2025 Chapter President. After dinner, we'll enjoy time at the Closing Party.

Safe travels!
- Brian

Guest Speaker

Hamilton Baiden

AGC of America recently entered into a partnership with Youturn Health that benefits members acorss the U. S. We are proud to have Hamilton Baiden, CEO of Youturn Health share not only his emotional path to recovery, but how his firm's nationwide network can be a vital resource for the construction industry. As any construction employee knows from first-hand experience, working in construction takes a toll physically and mentally through injuries, accidents, stress, behavioral health issues, and substance use.

Research shows that the suicide rate for men in the construction industry is five times greater than all other work-related fatalities in the industry. The construction industry is also know for having the highest drug overdose death rate of any industry, yet, only 2 in 10 construction workers get help for their mental health.

Through the national partnership, member AND their families now can have access to mental health resources. Hamilton will speak to how employers can better support their employees through multi-facted peer coaching, online learning and family support.

We look forward to sharing this raw conversation with AGC Georgia members to help empower employers with better resources for their teams.

After Party presented by

All business registrants and social-only registrants are invited to end the convention in relaxed style with music from Everette. This evening's band is generously hosted by Harrison Contracting Company. This event is not open to anyone under the age of 18.

Sometimes the way forward is finding your way back. For Everette, this means a return to their roots and remembering the days when the duo, Brent and Anthony, first started making noise 16 years ago in the college bars and honky tonks of Bowling Green, KY.

Over the past few years, these two Bullitt County, KY, natives have been busy racing from one stage to another via planes, trains, vans, and tour buses…rolling through all four corners of the US, singing through jet lag touring Europe, and playing the Grand Ole Opry eleven times.
